The purpose of this FREE program is to increase the knowledge, competence, and skills of clinicians who, in accordance with clinical practice guidelines, intensify therapies to optimize timely, sustained glycemic control and initiate and discuss personalized weight management as a key goal for persons with type 2 diabetes to reduce long-term health implications.

Physicians and Physician Assistants 
The American College of Endocrinology (ACE) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American College of Endocrinology (ACE) designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1^TM Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

ABIM MOC
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Only those who receive a passing score will be eligible for MOC credit.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants should be better able to:   

• Review the latest evidence-based guidelines on implementing complication-centric treatment options in persons living with type 2 diabetes. 
• Identify methods to intensify therapies to reach timely, sustained glycemic targets and maintain weight or promote weight loss.  
• Apply shared decision-making strategies with sustained glycemic targets and personalized weight management as key goals in persons living with T2D to prevent long-term health implications. 

U.S. primary care physicians (PCPs), physicians in-training, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), registered dietitians (RDs), nurses, pharmacists, and other HCPs who treat patients with type 2 diabetes.
