What are the steps to earn the certificate?

1. Attend the in-person hands-on session at the AACE Annual Meeting.

2. Purchase and complete the online didactic course, which includes recorded lectures and a self-assessment exam.

3. Successfully complete all components to earn your official AACE Certificate of Proficiency.


Will I earn CME / MOC credit? 

Yes. Credit was awarded for your attendance at the in-person Hands-on Skills course at AACE's annal meeting. You will receive an additional 3 credits for completing the certificate course. 

Is the certificate recognized professionally?

Yes. The certificate represents a commitment to clinical excellence and skills development. It is issued by AACE, a trusted leader in endocrine education, and can be added to your CB, credentialing documents, and professional profiles.

Participants have two years to complete all requirements for the certificate.

Physician Credit
The American College of Endocrinology (ACE) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American College of Endocrinology (ACE) designates enduring activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Only those who receive a passing score will be eligible for MOC credit.

Please allow two weeks for MOC points to appear within your account on the ABIM website. Participation information will be shared. 

Nursing Credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 17762, for 3 contact hours.

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify basic neck anatomy and ultrasound physics.
  • Describe the use of ultrasound in diagnosing and evaluating diffuse thyroid disorders and thyroid nodules, as well as performing fine-needle aspiration biopsies.
  • Describe the use of ultrasound in the evaluation of neck lymph nodes and parathyroid glands/adenomas.

The primary target audience includes Endocrinologists and Fellows.

The secondary target audience includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Other Clinicians who treat endocrine conditions.

Thyroid disorders, particularly thyroid nodules and dysfunctions are common endocrine issues encountered in clinical practice. Approximately 50-60% of adults have thyroid nodules, and although the majority are benign, the potential for malignancy necessitates accurate diagnosis and management. AACE Hands-On Thyroid Nodules and Function Testing Certificate is designed to provide Endocrinologists and care team members with updated knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for their patients.
