Elaine W. Yu, MD, MMSc 

Elaine W. Yu, MD, MMSc is an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is an endocrinologist and clinical researcher in the Endocrine Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and is the Director of the MGH Bone Density Center. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, Dr. Yu completed medical school and residency at the University of California, San Francisco. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the MGH. Dr. Yu’s clinical and research interests are in obesity, bariatric surgery, osteoporosis, and metabolic functions of the gut microbiome.
